Second Test match between England& India

The first Test match between India& England is over.It it ended in equal terms &was a thriller in many respects. The World Cup soccer ,though the games were neither interrupted nor clashed with the timings of Telecast of the Test match many missed it, especially in Kerala, because the Sport& Games enthusiasts were to some extent preoccupied With the thought& thrills of soccer. The Germans the most deserving Soccer besides Holland took the Cup Over the seas from Latin America to Europe, perhaps,in the same manner Brazil had done by taking the cup from Europe to Latin America some time back. Let us come back to our thriller of a cricket match viz the first Test held in Tent Bridge from 9th to 13th of July.India scored a formidable 457 runs thanks to the last(10th)Wicket Partnership between Bhuvaneswar Kumar& Mohemmed Shamy which fetched an unexpected 111 runs in the First innings. England in reply started moderately & their 9th wicket fell at 298 giving India pleasant thougt of a huge lead & eventual Win over England. But James Anderson& Joe Root thought differently. The game continued thrillingly until England scored 198 runs more to finish at 498..A thriller of a partnership. Hopes for a Draw prevailed. But alas!England threatened India with early Wickets & at one stage it looked although India can not escape from a possible defeat. But again the thriller match continued with the threat of defeat straing at India. At this stage A glorious partnership between Stewart Binni & again Bhuvaneshkumar scored Individual score of 78 and 63 respectively .the match thus ended in Draw Perhaps for the first time in the History of Test cricket both the teams staged a last Wicket partnership of over 100 runs in First Innings. Now let us have a look at the prospects of Second test starting from today.Coach& Duncan Fletcher& Captain MSDhoni have decided to play with 5 bowlers. Rahul Dravid who is also epwithnthe Team in England has welcomed the decision of the CoCh& Captain. Sunil Gavaskar who had watched the first Test very keenly opined that Bat would speak for India in the second Test.He is a veteran who has tremendous trust in the Batting of India. Besides ,James Anderson & Ravindra Jadeja had a row over the play in the first Test & Both are likely to be kept away if ICC decides to take tuff action against them. The decision of the ICC is yet to be delivered. Let us hope again a thrilling encounter between bat & Ball in this second Test which is Going to stage in the Mecca of Cricket LORDS. 1. Summary-Day1:Bat will speak for India.Yes Bat has spoken towards the end of the game on First day at Lords where the pitch behaved indifferently first& later on the greenery on the Top helping the Indians.Sunil Gavaskar had said Bat will sPeak for India.what he meant was presumably fitting for recognized Batsmen but the onslaught surfaced after the loss of 7th wicket for just 145 on board.
There was a tremendous recovery from this position to finish the day on 290/9.Thanks to Ankya Rahane,Bhuvaneswar Kumar& Mohemmed Shamy again.
This progress towards the end of the day disappointed England who otherwise could have dictated terms to India.
Rahane needs special praise. It appears thatbhe is likely to get his name on the Honour Boardat Lords.the reason is in just 5 test matches he played his score was a half century +96 in SA,a century in NZ& a century here.in the Mecca of cricket Lords.
Kohli needs further advancement in score. He became a shadow of his self here in England.
290 on first day is a good score with one wicket more to fall.Recovering from 147/7 to290/9 is a fine effort from the tail Enders. All the best to Rahane who rescued India from a possible rotten state.Anderson was luckyto hold him from a low return .
The match is now progressing in a reasonably encouraging manner to a photo finish.
Rahane also deserves praise for safeguarding the words of a veteran of Indian cricket Mr.Sunil Gavaskar.
If everything goes well according to plan of Duncan Fletcher, the second Test is going to become exciting.Possible defeat for England can not be totally ruled out

  2. Yesterday England had threatened India with smart Quick dismis sals& at one stage it was 145/7.but recovered tremendously ,by allowing the Bat to speak as Gavaskar had said, and finis he'd the dayat295/10
Today the story ofvEngland was similar almost identical initially.Bhuvaneswar Kumar dismissed both openers AlistairCook & Robson cheaply& England started struggling.the fall of Bell& Joe Root produced enormous Tension for England. But always someone rescues England when they are in distress..this time it wasBallance& Moin Ali who established a big partnership. But,Vijay a part time Bowler removed Moin Ali followed By Ballance who was removed by B.Kumar.it looks both the Test matches belongs to B.Kumar to a very large extent.at present England trail by 81 runs with 4 wickets remaining for England.Plunket& Prior are at the crease now towardscthevend of day two.englandvstill trailing by 81 Runs.thatscthe end ofvthe day withbEngland finishing at 4,Wickets & 76,Runs in arrears.the final score of the day two219/6.B.Kumar took 4 of the 6 wickets lost for England.Tomorrow is yet another day of thrill& Tension for both India& England

  3. The 3rd day's play was significant .But ended with the fear of a defeat for India.
But on the 4thday today Raveendran Jadeja & BhuvaneshKumar brought India back into the game.Their effort paved way for India to fix a reasonablly good target difficult for England to chase but never impossible.
eRobson was the first victim today to depart .thereafter Cook& Ballance fought back in such away that at one stage it lookked England could meet the target of 319 rather easily because one full days play of 90 overs were left to negotiate.
But then tge inevitable had eventually happened.balance,Ian Bell& Alistair Cook returned to Pavilion in quick succession.
Withb5 overs& 6?wickets remaining today & England strugglingat z98/4 needing yet another 221 runs more,It shouldvbe safelyassumed thatvthe daybbelonged to Indiavwho are in a position to forceca victory tomorrow iatbLordscthecMecaa of Cricket .
If Indiavwin in England soil the credit shouldvbe given to RaveendraJadejavwho fought llikeva real Warrior& Hero.

Let us hope tomorrow would beaHistorical Day for India to celebrate.

At stumps on 4th day England are struggling on 104/4.Dhoni dropped an easy chance at this stage.letbus hope it would not turn into a costly miss at tge end ofvthe match tomorrow.
Any how,the day belonged to India& Jadeja /Bhuvanesh Kumar.
The day ended with 105/4 the final over bowled by Dhawan was a surprisingbone.why his service has not been utilized until now is a big Question.

  4. The final day the Test arrived with much hope for a historical win for India..but it was not as easy as it was thought.Joe Root& Moeen Ali staged a tuff fight by scoring freely until a couple of minutes from Lunch.at the stroke of Lunch,Ishant Sharma removed Moeen much to the relief of Indians.
    They had a peaceful Lunch.
After Lunch the story was different.A procession of falling wickets was witnessed at Lords.
Ishant Sharma was the hero who claimed one by one. Total of 7 wickets leaving one for Raveendran Jadeja to perform a sweet revenge on Anderson whom he ran out.And at last Victory smiled on India..A historical victory after 28 years was celebrated even before the falling of Anderson by Kapila Dev who opened a Bottle of Champagne at the fall of 9th wicket. Thus Jadeja's running out Anderson indirectly honor to Kapila Devastating though he has welcomed the nice gesture from The Veteran.
    Jay ho India!JainHind!
