The second Test match between India& Australia began in Uppal Stadium on2nd March2013 both the
Indians & Australians Hoping quite differently.India with added enthusiasm to enhance their lead& the Australians to amend the
Australians to amend disastrous experience at Chennai.Both had reasons to believe so also with different
yardsticks.The Australians who very badly needed to level the series without any more element of delay depended
Upon their batting ability concentrated on Warner,Watson,Covan,Hughes,Skipper Clarke himself,Wade,Henriques & the
Newly introduced debutant Maxwell.Naturally,taking into account the Spin sensation of the pitches in India the
Australians had to introduce a Spinner in Doherty as an additional attraction.With a balanced Team with Pattinson
Siddle,Watson& Capt Clarke himself as yet another Spinner the Australians rightly hoped to level the Series.
The Indians on the other hand retained the natural winning combination at Chennai trusting veteran Sehwag,&
Murali Vijay yet another chance despite their double failure in both the Innings at Chennai.India also hoped
Veerender Sehwag on diminishing return would correct himself& Murali Vijay would amend himself by regaining
The Rythm of his batting ability.Any how it was a very good gesture from the Coach& Captains of the Indian
camp.They were also hoping on the MaestroS.R.Tendulkar's repeated performance of making years falling away again.
Cheteswar Poojara,Virat Kohli,Skipper Dhoni himself,Ravinder Jadeja & Aswin besides Sharma& B.Kumar were all
Justified most fittingly after the historical win at at Chennai in which the Indian Captain played a brand new
Role with a Double Century breaking all the Records in the books of Cricket except that of Andy Flower who had
made 232 as the highest score by a Wicket keeper Batsman.Dhoni,in fact fell 8 Short of this record.
The Toss was still vital as is in all Cricket matches.Michael Clarke was yet again lucky to win the Toss
& duly electing to bat.
So, thus the encounter between Bat & Ball began amidst the shouting from the amazing spectators at Hyderabad.

The great Dual Ws, winners of the matches, Watson&Warner proceeded to the crease
with determination to live upto the expectation of the Australian Squad of
producing a Century partnership for the opening pair.
So much was the hopes the Australian Captain Michael Clarke had placed on them.
Despite this,however,Warner fell in the 3rd over of the Australian innings just
for a contribution of 6 runs from him clean Bowled by BuvaneshKumar a pacer from
India.Perhaps,Warner was getting out clean Bowled for the first time in a Test
Match that too to a Fast Bowler.Thus B.Kumar started with a good break not only a
invaluable wicket but the history of Warner as well.
EJM Cowan joined Watson in the middle with the hope of building notwithstanding
the fall of Warner.But he too met with the inevitable destiny of getting out LBW
to B.Kumar again in the 5th over just for v4 runs. The scoreboard read 2 wickets
for 15 runs .
B.Kumar didnt stop there.In the 15th over the greatest possible resquer&winner for
Australia Shane Watson was claimed by him again LBW for a individual contribution
of 23 runs.Watson teettering&tottering walked towards the Pavilion.That spelt
disaster for Australia while B.Kumar started celebrating especially,perhaps,he had
claimed three Australians on his own without even looking for support from the
colleagues.
A tremendous achievement for a youngster debutant in Test Cricket.
Disaster for Australia did not end there.As though the darkness of misery was
sorrounding them ,P.J.Hughes a fine batsman of Australia also fell in the 22nd over
well caught behind by Capt Dhono off Aswin ,the destroyer at Chennai.
Now the scorecard spelt 4 wickets for just 63 runs, the unavoidable Agony moving
towards the Australians.The contribution from Hughes was just a meagre 19 runs.
It does not appear to have any such occasion in the past for an Australian Team
going for lunch after surrendering 4 wickets before Lunch in a Test Match.
Then started the resquing act between Captain M.J.Clarke&Wicket keeper batsman
M.S.Wade until the 69th over when the third "W" winner in the Australian team
M.S.Wade fell to the Turbanator well caught by Kumar.The individual contribution
of Wade was 62 runs&the score card read 5 wickets for 208 runs.
The 6th ,7th&8th wickets fell rapidly as a routine in the form of Henriques,Maxwell
&Siddle just for an addition of paltry 38 runs.The score card read now 8 wickets
for 236 runs.Thus the hero of Chennai Henriques who took the game to the 5th day
&the debutant all rounder Maxwell fell without much of a significant contribution.
Captain Michael Clarke who was sure to score a century as a matter of a
captain's innings ,was not expected to fall at this stage.But he proved the saying
"Expect the Unexpected "as true by surrendering his wicket to an ill fated attempt
to lift an unplayable ball R.Jadeja over the fence to miss &get himself bowled.
That was a misadventure from the Captain in the 84th over of the innings.
The score was just a paltry236 for 9 wickets.
The attempt from Clarke a miserable one had happened in a situation when Australia
many more runs to keep their hopes alive.
What has happened can not be unhappened.Perhaps all the sweetest perfumes of Arabia
may not be sufficient to wash away the sin committed by the Captain.
Any how after addition of one run from Pattinson ,Michael Clarke declared the
innings as closed ,a surprise declaration at the wrong time!
the idea of Clarke was to claim one of the openers in the remaining 3 overs of the second day.But the idea did not work at this point of time.
The next day the third day of the Test match was a historical day placing two of the Indian batsmen Cheteswar Poojara&Murali Vijay continuing to dwell until stumps to remain not out.Both had,in the meantime had scored centuries ,a milestone in Test cricket.
The just one casuality on ther day was none other than Veerender Sehwag who could make just 6 runs for India well caught behing by Wade bowled by the pacer Siddle.
The score was just 17 in the 8th over of the Indian innings.
Therafter ,it was history for the whole day three.At stumps on 3rd Day Cheteswar Poojara the most skillful technical batsman today in India was not out out on 162
&Mrali Vijay who was to regain his batting Rhythm was on 129 not out.
The narration of the Test match for the benefit of those sleep abroad while the
Indian cricketers dwell for their Motherland would be continued at the end of the match of which a result seems to be forth coming provided the Bowlers of India

In this Test Match ,only two days are over today(4th March) is just the 3rd day.
ReplyDeleteSo a result in this test match is most likely instead of ending in dull drawn match.
For this to happen,Indians could pray for the bowlers and thaAustralian Supporters for the batsmen either to make a come back or to see that they play the entire 5 days until stumps on the 5th day.but it also looks easier for the Hosts than the Guests.

ReplyDeleteNow I again regret for repeating regrets every time.
In my blog,I had inadvertently written that Watson& Warner had opened the Australian first innings.
The reason for this is obvious.
Warner & Watson are my Australian heroes since they started playing cricket.though I am not a hero worshipper,Warner & Watson has influenced my Cricketloving mind.I always them opening the Australian innings.
Watson is an important wicket taking Bowler also for Australia.
On many occasions I had even thought how Australians could play without Warner& Watson.
Under the circumstances ,I once again apologize for the error & promise not to commit such silly errors in future.
After all,to err is human.
So please excuse me once again.
